A Busy Busy Weekend

It may be mid-September but Can’t Stop The Serenity shows no sign of slowing down! And in our typical display of Globalism, events are in 3 countries this weekend.

We’ll start with Nowra, Australia. The Shoalhaven Browncoats are back for their 2nd year with doors opening at 5:00 and the event starting at 6:00. There will be food, a best dressed competition, an auction and sales. The Shoalhaven zoo has donated a family pass, a $50.00 item right there & there will be other exciting items. The main features will be Serenity of course as well as Dr. Horrible’s Singalong Blog.

Speeding around the world, we land at Miami Springs who are holding their first CSTS event although the Organizers are old hands at making CSTS fun.The SRF BRowncoats will be opening the doors at 5:00 with a happy Hour and have no scheduled closing time! We are reliably informed that one attendee will be a rescued Pelican- demonstrating where the money goes for the 2nd Charity. If Serenity & Dr. Horrible wasn’t enough, also on board is an outstanding raffle, costume contest and live music by musician and Browncoat Rick Fernandez.

Drifting northward, we land at St. Louis, Mo where there is the first CSTS screening since 2008! Doors open at 9:00. There will be an auction, a costume contest and of course, Serenity. See it on a big screen again!

Grande Prairie Alberta’s event starts at noon to give plenty of time for all the fun.The 28 Fighting Swans are back for a second year, determined to have more fun and raise more money. There will be an auction, best costume contest, an evil laugh contest and of course Serenity and Dr. Horrible.

Back to the Pacific Coast, we find Orange County once again holding a CSTS event. Like the other screenings this weekend, this will be one to remember. They have gotten permission from Fox to show Out of Gas. Written by Tim Minear, this is Joss’s favorite episode. As if Serenity and Out of Gas wasn’t enough, there will also be a live auction, door prizes & shiny merchandise. Last but certainly not least, live music from The Fallen Stars who will be debuting their EP of Firefly inspired songs. Please note that ticket sales for the event are at the table in the lobby of the theater–Folks should not stand in line at the box office outside.

On Sunday we are pleased to welcome another new group to the CSTS family. Arcata, CA has an active Browncoat Club in Humboldt State Univrsity and now they are inviting the rest of Arcata to join the excitement. The Arcata Theatre Lounge even promises to serve Mudders Milk! There will be trivia contests, prize drawings, and a cosplay parade and of course, Serenity.
