Can't Stop The Serenity is a global series of screenings of the film Serenity, held to raise money and awareness for Equality Now, an international women's rights advocacy group. Can't Stop The Serenity events are held on (or around) June 23, which is writer / director Joss Whedon's birthday, through the Serenity Release Anniversary, September 30.

Want to be a Big Damn Hero?

If so, we are looking for people willing to help prepare and support a fast-paced marketing campaign to gain some local business sponsorships, including fundraisers, street team members, local artists, contributors, printers and media.

This is our fourth year holding a CSTS event. Austin has raised over $15,000 for Equality Now. As a world-wide united front, we've raised over $250,000 for Equality Now. We know that the sky is the limit for 2009. We can't wait to wow you with what we have in store!

Can't Stop The Serenity is a global series of screenings of the film Serenity, held to raise money and awareness for Equality Now, an international women's rights advocacy group. This year, we're giving support to Kids Need To Read, as well. Kids Need To Read is a children's literacy non-profit organization who will take the money we raise and put it back into Austin's underprivileged schools, libraries and shelters. Please join the Austin Browncoats as they raise money for charity at the Alamo Lake Creek for 2009's Can't Stop The Serenity. This screening is a double feature of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and Serenity, both written and directed by Joss Whedon. We'll have a raffle of amazing prizes from local and international vendors, as well as an auction of autographed items. Alamo Lake Creek will provide a special themed menu to enjoy during the event, which will also include a costume contest.
