UPCOMING EVENTS…

We’re delighted to announce the next fortnight’s Can’t Stop the Serenity events:

CSTS Toronto, OR Canada – June 6

The Toronto Browncoats are hosting a screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog on Saturday, 6 June 2009. Tickets are just $5 and are available at the North York Central Library Auditorium on the day. All proceeds go to Equality Now, so bring your family, bring your friends, and bring your voices. Costumes welcomed! (Details here). We’re sorry, but no working Freeze-Rays allowed.

CSTS New York City, NY US – June 6
The Browncoats of New York City will be having a special Pre-Event Party, hosted by Gemini and Scorpio, on Saturday, 6 June, from 8pm-12am. The event will include a rooftop screening of Joss Whedon’s 2005 space-western Serenity, and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, Whedon’s musical-romp internet series. All proceeds benefit Equality Now. The event’s private location will be revealed with RSVP, and the suggested donation is $10. This is an all ages event. Please RSVP here.

CSTS Philadelphia, PA US – 12 June
As part of this year’s Can’t Stop the Serenity festivities, CSTS Philly is proud to announce an exclusive screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. The sing along screening will take place on Friday, June 12 from 7:30-8:30 pm at Germ Books in Fishtown. Dress up as your favorite Hammer wielding superhero or Evil League of Evil supervillain and be prepared to sing along. You might even win a cool prize! Suggested donation is $5 at the door, with all proceeds going to Equality Now. Light refreshments will be provided. Special thanks to Germ Books & Gallery for generously co-sponsoring this event!

CSTS Los Angeles, CA US – 14 June
The SoCal Browncoats will be screening Serenity on Sunday June 14th at 10:00 AM at Laemmle’s Sunset 5. Please note the change of location from last year and the matinee screening time. Tickets are $15 and are available from the SoCal Browncoats website until 3 days prior to the event. This is one of four events in the SoCal area, so come out to a screening (or more than one) and help us continue the Browncoat tradition of doing good works!

CSTS Hartford, CT US – 16 June
Capitol Cinema Collective is proud to present CSTS Hartford at Kino Kafé at La Paloma Sabanera Coffeehouse. They will be screening Joss Whedon’s Serenity on Tuesday, June 16th at 8PM as part of the Can’t Stop the Serenity worldwide charity screenings for Equality Now. Tickets are available from the venue for a donation of $10.

CSTS Nottingham, UK – 16 June
Hosted by the University of Nottingham’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Society, this event features screenings of Serenity and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. The Nottingham screening will be held in room A48 of the Sir Clive Granger Building on the University of Nottingham’s University Park Campus, on Tuesday June 16th, starting at 6.30pm (doors open at 6pm). We will be showing the film, followed by the hit web series Dr. Horrible, with a short break in between. Tickets cost £5, and all profits go straight to Equality Now!
