The Utah Browncoats are poised once again for a thundering entrance to the 2018 season with their annual main event in Salt Lake City.
On the 16th June they invite you to come and be a Big Damn Hero for Equality Now and the Volunteers of America – Utah’s Home 4 Teens!
Organiser Halo says “As attendees arrive for the Big Damn Movie screening at Brewvies Cinema Pub, they will be greeted by Mal, the custom Mini owned by local Browncoat Mark Woodring. After checking in, attendees without a Guild can be inducted into (or bribe their way into) their Guild with our Jayne Hat of Sorting. (The Guilds of the ‘Verse became a Utah Browncoat addition to the fan lore and fabric of the Firefly / Serenity universe at the Browncoat Ball of 2016. Our swag bags are extra special for the chosen theme of Big Damn Heroes, and will include some highly unique items for the first 100 ticket holders only! We will have our usual pre-movie introductions and then roll on the film.
For all the post-movie misbehaving and shenanigans such as the prize drawing and our famously overstuffed auctions, we then travel next door to Legends Sports Grill. For this year’s event we have partnered with Legends to offer a custom menu for food and cocktails that includes gems like the Naked Mal Burger, Wash’s Spicy Hawaiian Pizza, and of course we wouldn’t leave out a classic drink like Mudder’s Milk. Nandi’s Boy Whores will make a special appearance, and you can finish out your meal with some of Kaylee’s Strawberry Cheesecake. Attendees are sure to find a dish or drink that suits their mood and honors the characters that populate the ‘Verse. Finishing out the day as a last hurrah will be the Big Damn Heroes costume contest.”
