No Power in the ’Verse Can Stop CSTS Pittsburgh!

CSTS 2020 Pittsburgh - Facebook Feature ImageThe Rivers & Bridges Brigade of the PA Browncoats, Geek Frontiers, and Jump Cut Theater present Can’t Stop the Serenity 2020 – Pittsburgh! Saturday, Sep 5th – 7:00pm-11:30pm. Get Tickets!

Not even a global pandemic can keep us from holding Pittsburgh’s 15th annual Can’t Stop the Serenity charity screening of Serenity! We’re all manner of pleased to announce that we will be holding a screening of “Serenity under the Stars” on Saturday, September 5th in Allegheny County’s South Park. We’ll be screening Serenity outdoors in a field for a “picnic and a movie” experience, and attendees will be asked to bring their own blankets or chairs, as well as their own food and beverages (no alcohol or glass containers permitted by order of the Allegheny County Parks Department). We’ll still have a limited number of raffles too, including a shiny door prize and our special raffle for those who are seeing the movie for the first time. (Sorry, no games this year.)

All donations must be made electronically prior to the event in order to eliminate the need for “cashy money” at the screening. Those who make a minimum $15 donation will receive 5 entries in each of the regular raffles, an entry in the door-prize raffle (and first-timers raffle, if appropriate) and an invitation to the screening. The exact time and location of the screening will be sent electronically to those who have donated shortly before the event (just like London’s “Secret Cinema”). Raffle tickets are also available online for those who can’t make it to the screening or wish to purchase additional tickets. All donations will go to Equality Now and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Details for making donations and securing movie reservations/raffle tickets are available now on the “Tickets/Merchandise” page of our site.

Our event will be required to abide by all current Pennsylvania health and safety guidelines, which means we will be limited in the number of attendees allowed, and all who attend will be required to wear face masks and maintain social distance at all times. (Cap’n says no exceptions!)

Last year’s Serenity screening raised a total of $679.00 for Equality Now! Thanks to all who have attended and contributed to our fundraising efforts. Since 2006, CSTS Pittsburgh has raised nearly $14,000 for Equality Now and other charities, and we’ve contributed to a global CSTS effort that has raised nearly $1.3 million! We would like to thank all those who continue to support us by donating and/or attending our events.

Special thanks to our sponsors, Geek Frontiers, which has been a sponsor of CSTS Pittsburgh since 2013, and Jump Cut Theater, who have sponsored our events since 2018.  Don’t forget to check back often to stay updated on all the latest news and information about CSTS Pittsburgh events and other PA Browncoats Rivers and Bridges Brigade shindigs on our “News” and “Calendar” pages.

We look forward to seeing you at the 15th annual CSTS Pittsburgh. Stay safe, and keep flyin’!
